Acheron (2023) is an anti-heroic piece that challenges traditional tropes of masculinity and male power. Its elaborate architecture recalls imperial-ecclesiastical structures and triumphal ceremonies, subverting these in an off-kilter hellscape (in classical myth, Acheron is one of the rivers in Hades) that is theatrical, unnerving and poignant.
